Stage 2: Montecatini Terme - Montecatini Terme (165 km)
It seems like that today will be a stage for the sprinters in the peloton. Half way the stage there will be a long climb and the riders get to climb the 3 km long Vico three times. The last time they will climb the Vico will be 10 km before the finish. Is this enough to lose the sprinters? We will see today.

 Tirreno-Adriatico
, the "race of the two seas", is an elite cycle race following a route between the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic coasts of Italy. Traditionally held in early season, it is considered important preparation for the Milan-Sanremo classic race. From 2005 to 2007, it was part of the UCI ProTour calendar, and although it was reclassified in 2008 as a UCI Europe Tour event, when organiser RCS withdrew all their events from the UCI's premier calendar, it became part of the UCI World Ranking calendar the following year.

Today Andy participated  in his second race of the season, Strade Bianche Eroica.

A race of 190 km from Gaiole in Chinati to Piazza Siena. In total there were about 60 km of perfect white gravel, divided in 8 segments. The longest one counted 13,5 km.

Astana cyclist Maxim Inglinsky won the race and has beaten last year winner Lövkvist ( Team Sky) and Michael Rogers (HTV-Colombia) in a tree-way sprint. Pippo came in fourth a few seconds later.

The pictures show that Andy did a lot of work for the team but he didn't finished. His name doesn't appear in the list of results.

Hope he pulled out as of precaution of his knee and not because of his knee.

Next race for Andy is Tirreno-Adriatico starting the 10th of March
