With 5 climbs today’s stage was the queen stage in this year’s Tour de France. This was the stage where big differences could be made by the men for the podium in Paris. On the first climb of the day Cadel Evans, second in last year’s Tour, couldn’t really follow the peloton and constantly stayed at the back of the peloton with a team mate. He would finish 29’43” behind the stage winner.0 Comments

The field was again today going through Team Saxo Bank-country during the Tour of Luxembourg's 185 kilometer long second to last stage between Wiltz and Diekirch.
A four-man group got away early on the course but as they had obtained a lead of five minutes Team Saxo Bank fired up the coal boilers and blasted away at the front of the peloton where a group of sixteen riders escaped - including six riders from the Danish squad, Matti Breschel, Chris Anker Sørensen, Gustav Larsson, Kurt-Asle Arvesen and the home favorites Andy and Fränk Schleck.
