Today a 52k time trial is on the program. Almost in Paris and the last chance for Andy to win 10 second to Contador.

Al over favorite of the time trial started early. At 11.21 Fabian Cancellara started his time trial. He was the fastest. Tony Martin came close. Will Cancellara´s time be enough to win this TT?

Andy is off and on his way. He looks solid. Contador who is right behind him, doesn't really sit still on his bike. He move to the front and to the back of his saddle. Andy stays in one position on his saddle.

On the first time points on the route, Andy makes the time gap smaller too Contador. He had 8 seconds to Contador. And Sanchez loses time to Mentjov and Mentjov climbs in the GC to the third place. Going on in the time trial Andy wins time to Contador and the yellow is getting closer and closer.

What Andy said. The Tour is not over yet.

The conditions in the beginning of the time trial are different than when Andy and Contador are riding, there is  more wind. Cancellara  will win this Time trial but it's race of seconds for the two.

In the middle part of the time trial Andy is losing seconds to Contador. 46.53  Andy's time at the second time point. 46.46 Contadors time at the second time point.

Metsjov is doing good things this time trial. He passes van  der Broek. On this moment Mentjov is in third place in the GC.

In the last part of the time trial Andy loses a lot of seconds to Contador. This year is for Contador but next year Andy will be back.

Andy road the crap out of him until he looked yellow. Sorry that it ain't a yellow jersey. Andy gave it all, fought to the last second, he gave the Tour glance.

Cancellara wins the time trial, Contador wins the Tour.

  1. Bravo Andy,

  2. Let's not forget that as it turned out, Contador won the Tour by 39 seconds--exactly the amount of time Andy lost when he dropped his chain and Contador blew past. And before Andy dropped his chain, it looked like he was leaving Contador behind and extending his lead even more! This year was for Andy too...Contador knew it, and had to take a low blow to get his yellow jersey.
  3. Bravo Andy !Super TDF 2010

  4. Great Tour, Andy.

No matter what, you're still a champion.

You'll be stronger next year, and I have no doubt you'll blow us away.

  5. Well done Andy, Thanks for making the tour so exciting and in my mind you deserved it. You are a model for all champions. Thanks and good luck next year, we'll be rooting for you.
  6. Fantastic Andy,
As far as I am concerned, you share the yellow jersey for 1st. place - the first tie in the history of the Tour de France.

  7. Just 39 seconds ... the same gap Andy lost that day when he had mechanical problems when he was attacking and Contador was responding ... but don´t forget that Tourmalet day would have not been the same if that day Andy was leader, Contador would have attacked and nobody knows what would have happpened.

The same as if Andy had waited for Contador the day in which he took him 31 seconds ...

From Spain, let all of you know that all of us we like Andy a lot, we hope next years will be so fantastic as this year and hopefully both of them can share the victory next year.

BRAVO ANDY !! You are great, very good in cycling and much better person. Spain admires you !!
  8. what are the tdf rules regarding departing from the Start House a full one second early? Go back to the videos and have a look at the last rider to start the Time Trial. At the very least the authorities might consider deducting one second for leaving before the start lady indicated?
  9. Andy, I believed in you and was cheering when you got to Contador at 2 seconds!! Unfortunatly, the last part of the track was not easy for you and Contador didn't had problems with his chain or tire...
But I know for sure that next year Contador has to beat you! And you will stand in Paris with the Yellow, which is, like you already said, a nicer colour than white!(and Paris already saw you in white;-))
    Good luck from Friesland!
  10. Great Job Andy...you showed you can time trial with the best of them. So go out next year and kick some...with or without Frank.
  11. Andy...now you KNOW you can win. Work on your time trialing and you WILL be the next tour champion.
  12. Bravo, Andy.
It really seems to have ended in a tie.
Thanks for the exciting ride on Tourmalet and every single day of top effort.
We look forward to next year and the Schleck brothers riding together, til the wheels come off, and you are on the top of the podium where we all know you belong.

    Love ya in

  13. Well done Andy, but can you stop complaining now? All the: 'they didn't wait for me' and 'if Frank would be here everything would be different'. Deal with the fact that Contador is still better, your time will probably come.
  14. Such a young leader who carried himself with respect while faced with difficulty. I already admired you for your cycling ability for at least 2 years now but now I admire you for so much more. Keep up the great work. You have a fans in Athens, Georgia. 8-)
