Races After the Tour. Criteria Andy participates

Today the last day of the Tour has started. Andy will be second in the GC and first in the White jersey classification. Three weeks of hard work, and you think Andy can get some rest, well you are wrong. Andy´s program for the next weeks in loaded. Here some races and information where he is going to ride.

26 juli - daags na tour - boxmeer, NL

The first criteria after the Tour. Andy won this race last year. 100km on a short parcour in the town Boxmeer. Beside the cycling there is other entertainment.

27 juli - profronde van stiphout - stiphout, NL

The first Profronde of Stiphout was held in 1980, 30 years ago. Big names came to this race. Contador won this race last year and Andy came in second (where did we seen this before?) . This is the only criteria Contador will attempt.

If local amateur round belonged to Bavaria Pro Tour Stiphout all the leading races of the region. The first real Pro Cycling Tour organized the Committee as chair Mies in the January 1980, during the Tour de France. Winner was the Belgian superstar Roger de Vlaeminck.

Current Chairman of the Foundation of Cycling Events Stiphout Huub Voort, is already 13 years board. He describes the group members as "a group of friends with a shared passion." It was in the early years is very difficult to find a good match to date. The race was by the successes of Joop Zoetemelk, Jan Raas, Gerrie Knetemann Hennie Kuiper and overcrowded. Only since 1985 there was a match of the calendar makes it disappeared on the first Tuesday after the Tour was organized.

 Since 2002 Bavaria has been attached to the round as a professional sponsorship name. In addition, the organization established 15 main sponsors for the coming years. Always grows pro round, not only in size but also in professionalism.

In the jubilee year 2004, three people from the first hours goodbye. Martin van Bree, Ad Deelen and French cemetery have been appointed an honorary member of the Pro Tour.

Last year Mark Cavandish won the Draai van de Kaai.

Last year winner of this race is Contador.

First cycling Surhuisterveen
